Sheohar district, carved out of Sitamarhi in 6 oct 1994.Sitamarhi lies to the east of Sheohar. To the west is East Champaran. To the south-east is Muzaffarpur. Sheohar is around 150 km in the north and east from Patna, the capital of Bihar. It is 55 km from Muzaffarpur.

The nearest airports are  Jaiprakash Narayan International Airport, Patna  of distance 174 km and Gaya International Airport, Gaya of distance 244 km.

The nearest railhead is Sitamarhi , which lie on the Darbhanga-Raxaul-Narkatiaganj railway line in Samastipur division of East Central Railway .

Deokuli :-
Deokuli

It is situated 19 Km west of Sitamarhi in the Sheohar district. An ancient Shiva Temple is situated here. Legends have it that Draupadi, the wife of five Pandavas was born here. A big fair takes place every year on the eve Shivaratri.

 

 

 

 

Bodhayan – Sar :- In this sacred place, Maharshi Bodhaya had written number of epics. The great Grammarian Panini was one of his disciples. The renowend Saint Deorhaha baba had laid the foundation of a Bodhayan Temple .

Madrasa Islamia Arabia Dumri:-  It is founded by Late Haji Mubarak Hussain in 1956 on the boarder of Fatma Chak and Dumri village. When it was instituted thousands of thousand students came here from different distant districts of Bihar to attain knowledge. Haji Mubarak Hussain, founder of this madrasa alone instituted this madrasa to educate muslim students specially poor students of the society and to a greater extent he got success in his mission. Outstanding quality of this madrasa is that one child can learn from primary to M.A. in the same premises. Besides, one can can get higher degree in different subjects without any hindrance. Food and lodging, clothes, books and copies are provided to the poor students
